In times of fragmentation and overwhelm, you are invited to dance with the complexities and find release in landscapes that hold. Through ancient and contemporary practices with movement, sound, imagination, we listen, compose, compost, and expand. This workshop explores the transformative power of the elements through movement and sound. In the three days, we will start with relaxing, releasing, and activating movements, building into dances that are physical and internal inspired by the imagination of nature, and methods of butoh dance, process work, somatic expressive arts. We will dance indoors and outdoors in the beautiful nature spaces, to the beautiful live music with percussions, gong, and electronics by Wieland Möller. The musical instruments themselves were designed inspired by nature elements. The five elements — present in all of nature, including the nature of us — live in balance/disbalance in our bodies, emotions, and relationships. They shape how we connect and communicate to ourselves, to each other, and to the world around us. In many cultures and ancient practices, these elements form the foundation of both healing and artistic practices. They weather us into more parts of ourselves becoming, into All. We dance imaginative, inspired, expansive, nuanced, surreal, and new senses in our body and the group body with nature metaphors, and to dance and reflect with the cycles of life, with our personal memories and the public media that remind us of grief and beauty in a temporary community space of the workshop. We look for new mixes, release, pleasurable confrontations, and processes. With butoh dance, vocals, and conflict studies, Min makes intimate, surreal, and psychosomatic performances and experiences of heightened relational emotions, permission for depths, and the emergent new. Min dances difficult truths beyond language through plurality of perspectives, unintentional movements within stillness and impulsive improvisation, and archetypes. Their dance collages intense imagery and physicality, stillness, and ritual. As a teacher, They explore how we can find new ways of moving, both individually and together - with a focus on how one and many bodies move through polarity, tension, and transformation. Min leads philosophical, embodied, imaginative, and emotional scores with the individual and group body, focusing on processing what is dark or difficult with the arts and the body, with butoh, post/butoh, process-oriented psychology ("Process Work"), nature imagery, and somatic therapy methods.
